This game will give you an endless amount of enjoyment and we are thrilled to have you join our community! I know in the grand scheme of things nobody's really gonna care about some random player retiring, but I totally respect the decision to do what's best and right for you, after all, I may need to do that myself. I still love the game, but maybe it's getting to that point where I should call it quits competitively, after all, our school just added someone who peeks in and out of top 100, so my spot is pretty much gone anyways. I totally get you dude, it's hard just trying to maintain your skill level at the higher ranks, let alone improve. And while I'm forever grateful for the opportunities such as traveling for tournaments, and representing my school, I need to remember why I went to school in the first place.

I'm never going to be a professional rocket league player, I dont have the time nor desire to to so. As I'm getting older and closer to graduation, I'm realizing that I need to start shifting my priorities to the real world. It's starting to take an effect on my mental health, with the stress of playing for a big name university that's trying to build an esports program. I too am another anonymous GC, but I've been grinding this game for about 4 and half years now. It truly has been a wonderful experience. I’m excited to see that progression.Īs the weeks, months, and years go by I’ll look back on the experience I had playing Rocket League as a testament to the dedication I can put into the things I enjoy in life. There’s still a lot players can do to improve.

Because of this and other reasons, I don’t imagine the pro scene will disappear any time soon. Rocket League is truly unique in that players are still finding new mechanics five years after initial launch. Watching RL vods from even a year ago show how incredibly quickly the community as a whole is improving. I’m awed by the talent pool Rocket League offers. It’s a blast being able to do what some of the pros do and amazing when your hands can do what your mind wants them to. To everyone still out there grinding to get better and become a Rocket League god, keep doing it. I’m sure I’ll occasionally play ranked dropshot or unranked 2s with my sister, but I’ve finally released the pressure, burden, and grind I put on myself to improve. After reaching Grand Champion in three different seasons, amassing a huge collection of items, hitting some insane shots, and riding the highs and lows that are Rocket League, I’m officially retiring from competitive play. I’ve been playing Rocket League for just about four years now almost to the day. I know none of you know who I am and that’s ok.
